Balayage: The PERFECT Haircolor

collage of women's fresh salon styles

Balayage hair color technique is all the rage right now. The hair painting trend started a few years ago with ombre, some thought it was a passing trend, but balayage is ombre’s classy sister that everyone from your grandma to your best friend can wear! This look is clearly here to stay. So what is it exactly? Hair painting in short terms where color is applied directly to the hair strand without foils. The difference between balayage and ombre is that ombre is focused mainly at the ends while balayage can be applied throughout the hair. This gives your hairstylist the ability to mimic the natural highlights from the sun. In addition to natural looks it gives your stylist the ability to create a color specifically for you! This technique can be used with any color scheme and length of hair! The possibilities are endless. Here are a few examples!

As a stylist i have really enjoyed this technique! I love how I can create a custom color for my client to play up her best features!! Here are some tips on how to talk to your stylist!

  1. Bring Pictures! Pictures are always an easy way to show what you want without the difficulty of trying to explain it.
  2. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day. Sometimes the look we want may not be achievable with just one visit. A great stylist will be able to explain this to you and come up with a plan to get you where you want to be without compromising your hair’s health.
  3. Ask for Olaplex. This life changing miracle treatment is literally insurance for your hair. Your stylist adds it to your color followed by a short conditioning treatment. Olaplex prevents damage to your hair by building up the bonds making your hair stronger than before. This is perfect for those of you who love to change up your style!! Color without all the damage!!

And there you have it lovelies!! I can’t wait for you to try this!! You will not regret it!!!! 🙂
